Apple sauce


Ingredients


500g
 Granny Smiths apples (peeled & cored)
150 ml
Water
20g
Castor sugar
½
Lemon (juiced)
½
Cinnamon stick
30g
Butter (unsalted)
1 pinch
Salt
5
cloves










Method


1.      Roughly chop the apples.
2.      Place in a pan all the ingredients & cover with a cartouche.
3.      On a low heat simmer gently until soft.
4.      Remove the cinnamon stick & cloves.
5.      Roughly mash up the apples with a whisk.
