Ingredients
1 | Onion (fine diced) |
30 ml | Olive oil |
2 cloves | Garlic (crushed) |
200g | Green split peas(soaked overnight) |
1 | Ham hock |
300 ml | Water |
½ | Nutmeg (grated) |
80g | Goats cheese (diced) |

Method
1. Sweat the onion & garlic in the olive until soft.
2. Add the peas & ham hock.
3. Cover with the water & bring to the boil, lower the heat & simmer until the ham is cooked.
4. Remove the ham & set aside with the cooking liquor.
5. Puree the peas, add the nutmeg & season.
6. To serve heat through using some of the liquor to moisten, then stir in the goat’s cheese.
